BEGINNER
YOGA/SEEDLINGS:
A special introductory program for students new to yoga. This 4
week course introduces the basics of yoga, (alignment, pranayama,
and asana). This course is not mandatory, but highly suggested,
to ease your way intro Starseed yoga.
BEGINNER
VINYASA YOGA: Yet another place for all those who
are new to yoga.. A gentle basics class designed for students of
all levels. Students will explore asana alignment for an optimal
Vinyasa practice. Through a mindful review of the "Pose of
the Month," the student will learn variations and the principles
of entering, abiding and exiting each asana. Instruction will emphasize
proper breathing and correct alignment. Consistent practice within
this progressive program will lead the beginner through a smooth
transition into Vinyasa II and prepare the more experienced student
for further explorations at the more advanced levels. Emphasis on
the basics of Vinyasa.
EFFORT/EASE,
WORK/REST (LEVEL 1-2): Finding a balance in
life and in all daily activities is what yoga teaches. Whether youre
a seasoned yogi or just starting your journey, discover the health
benefits of Yoga. Travel deeper into your own practice through Asana
(poses), Breath (pranayama), relaxation (restorative poses), yogic
philosophy and meditation. This multilevel class will lead the beginner
through the basic postures, while also challenging the more advanced
student. Towards the end of each class we will seek out various
ways we can reduce stress, let go of tension and experience stillness
in our lives for a deeply relaxing experience.
INTERMEDIATE VINYASA:
A more vigorous, Intermediate Vinyasa class taught in workshop style
that introduces students to inversions, arm balances and basic jump
backs in preparation for more advanced classes. Exploration of the
"Pose of the Month" will enhance the practice through
incorporation into the Vinyasa sequence.
VINYASA
1: Build the fundamentals
of alignment and breathing with basic postures (asanas) linked to
rhythmic breathing techniques. Classes are taught to safely open
the body through fluid movement, correct alignment and breath awareness.
VINYASA
OPEN: For all levels of students, a spectrum
of poses (asanas) are taught in a flowing vinyasa style in which
we move with the breath to create internal heat, challenge the body
and quiet the mind. Modifications are offered to lessen or intensify
the asana practice, enabling students to work at their own pace.
RESTORATIVE
& THERAPEUTIC YOGA:
A gentle but deeply healing class which allows the body/mind to
de-stress and relax while rejuvenating the spirit. We begin with
gentle movements to open and warm the body. Students are then placed
into postures supported by blocks, bolsters and blankets to allow
the body to naturally open and to release tight, tense muscles.
During states of deep relaxation, the body's own natural healing
system begins to awaken, increasing the strength of the immune system
and allowing vibrant health to surface. Students leave class with
a sense of calmness, feeling more energized and relaxed.
PRE-NATAL
YOGA: This class is designed
to prepare you for a healthier pregnancy and delivery. We recommend
moms-to-be begin this class as early in their pregnancy as possible,
all stages are welcome. Emphasis on core strengthening, pelvic alignment,
and breathing.
BREATH
CENTERED VINYASA 1 & OPEN: focuses
on building strength, increasing flexibility and fostering relaxation
through breath-centered asana, pranayama and meditation. This class
offers an individualized, safe yoga experience providing students
with a foundation to live life in the moment as healthy and connected
individuals. Students are encouraged to relax, have fun and take
risks on and off the mat!
STARSEED
INSPIRED YOGA 1 & OPEN: Jyoti Chrystal, founder
& director of Starseed Yoga has been studying and practicing
yoga for over 30 years. It is her eclectic style that has inspired
'Starseed Yoga'. Hatha yoga in the classical tradition with
focus on refined alignment to secure safety using stirtha/sukam
(Sanskrit for comfort, ease and stability). Classes include
pranayama (breathing) instruction and meditation techniques to allow
one’s heart to open and deeper teachings of yoga to take hold
and guide one’s life.
CORE
YOGA: There will be a focus
on poses that help to build abdominal strength and in turn will
help strengthen the back (strengthening the abdominals always improves
back issues!) . Some of the principles of Pilates will also be introduced
to increase abdominal strength and pelvic stability. Some familiarity
with yoga is recommended.
ROCK
N' ROLL YOGA: A revitalizing
flow of postures set to Rock 'n' Roll music. This class is designed
for people with some yoga experience. Although physical, the class
will allow students to create their own intensity
