Would you like to be an Ayurvedic Practitioner?
Or gain in-depth knowledge of this ancient science,
the basis of all modern medicine?
The New Jersey institute of Ayurveda
(NJIA) is a professional-level training program leading to a Diploma
in Ayurvedic Studies. Upon completion, you will be prepared to practice
Ayurveda, yoga's sister science of natural healing.
This 16-month professional program,
formerly taught exclusively on-site at Starseed, is now available
as an independent study program which can be completed in between
approximately 12 and 24 months of study.
Areas of instruction in the program include anatomy and physiology; history and traditions of Ayurveda; Ayurvedic pathology; theory and practice; manipulative therapies; botanical medicine; Ayurvedic diagnosis; constitutional analysis; nutrition and food theory; preventive medicine, psychology and counselling, Vedic astrology, and Ayurvedic esthetic care, among others.
The program affords the graduate
both the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to apply
this ancient healing science to the needs of contemporary clients.
The prerequisite for the program
is completion of the Ayurvedic Foundation-Level Course, which is
both the first module of the program as well as a stand-alone course
leading to to a Certificate in Ayurvedic Self-Care and Health Maintenance
for those who seek a detailed knowledge of Ayurveda but do not necessarily
seek to become practitioners.
