Entering the World of Shamanism

Shamanism is the oldest spiritual technology on the face of the earth. It origins are lost in the mists of antiquity, and it has been (and continues to be) practiced around the world today in a myriad of differing lineages and traditions: African, Asian, Native American, Amazonian and so on. Shamanism offers a means whereby problems of life in this world can often be addressed and remedied by journeying to and working in the world of the shaman: the world of spirit, of dreams, energies and potentials.

This special weekend experience is intended to introduce you to the world of the Shaman: its history, traditions and lineages, tools and manners of working and its effects on our lives. Included along with lectures on the foregoing topics will be the opportunity to experience a range of shamanic practices. Core shamanic techniques will be presented (e.g., sopla) and participants will also be given the experience of entering into what in Shamanic terms is known as "second attention," in order to experience non-ordinary realities. Techniques used will include the crystal singing bowls and the shamanic journey.

Walking the Labyrinth

Past Life Regression

Past Life Regression (PLR) is a shamanic deep trance state of consciousness in which you receive images or sensory input, which give information about your past lives. This information can enter the mind stream in small bits or in straightforward stream of consciousness storyline. It can be dramatically healing, simply interesting, or deeply transformational.

It is universally believed in philosophical and religious circles that the last thoughts one has just prior to leaving one's body at the time of death are the most important since these thoughts lay the groundwork for the next life's experience. Sometimes, PLR will bring forth these final moments of a previous life in a simple detached and non-emotional manner.

PLR offers insights into repetitive relationships or self-defeating beliefs that keep you stuck in a negative behavior pattern. Often, simply getting in touch with relevant past lives is enough to dissolve & release this destructive cycle of limiting physical conditions or psychological blocks that do not respond to traditional forms of therapy or treatment. You will nearly always walk away from a PLR with a greater sense of your relationship to the past and the possible future.

Starseed is pleased to announce that it is reinstituting its residential ayurvedic practitioner training program, a 12-workshop year-long series leading to the Diploma in Ayurveda, a practitioner-level credential that will open a world of opportunity for professionals well-trained in this ancient system of natural healing. Dr. Aparna Bapat, an Indian university trained ayurvedic physician with substantial instructional and clinical experience, has been teaching at Starseed since 2003 and will resume her role as principal instructor (with guest faculty) in the forthcoming program.
