If so, this special 4 week course starting in July is for you! You might even want to commit to 8 weeks to feel more comfortable as a beginner. This is a thorough intro to Starseed yoga and our unique method of delivery. You will be introduced to the history and philosophy of yoga that form the foundation for all teaching. You'll learn the essential asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques) so that after the four weeks you will be more comfortable going to any of our Level 1 or Open Level classes. Remember what brought you to yoga back when you first started – to get a good stretch, workout, learn breathing techniques, calm the mind, find a way to help you relax, find a new perspective….
The pace and rhythm of our culture, coupled with life’s challenges, can produce a cascade of stress hormones that have many effects on the body. These effects have a negative impact on the immune system leading to an increased risk of disease and emotional imbalance. Come join Lorrie & Brian to learn how to shift from a stress reaction to a relaxation response. This immersion will reset the body’s natural rhythm and neurological patterns. By using yoga asana, active and restorative, pranayama, guided meditation and aromatherapy, you will drop into a state of deep relaxation and awareness of the present moment so essential for the body-mind to restore its natural rhythm, balance and joy.

Wah! In Concert

Hip elegance flows from the lovely voice of Wah! If you've taken a yoga class in the last five years, you have no doubt heard her music. Sultry and indisputably real, she's the most engaging performer in the yoga & lifestyle market. She's spent ten years cultivating her sound, reinventing the traditional kirtan of India. A lifelong yogi, beginning yoga and meditation at age 17, she traveled to Europe, India and Africa seeking community and spiritual teachings. Her band now combines these traditions musically - with reggae, Hindu chanting and pop - and in it she finds the pulse of America's evolution in spirituality. It's not a sit-down concert; everybody sings. Devotional traditions of the world mix with Western influences... people dance... sing... meditate... The room comes alive with a group expression, led by the charismatic and talented Wah! She plays with the audience, singing the melody one way and then another way, she jams with the band, and sometimes one song will go on for 40 minutes. There's a fervor to it, but it's not religion. It comes from the East but it's not exotic. Americans want something real, something that touches the heart; they're tapping into a new form of spirituality and Wah! is right there to bring it to life in a uniquely American way. The magic is in the event itself - an audience participation experience of ecstatic transcendence. Wah is a Sanskrit word meaning bliss beyond description; it is also the name of a talented musician. Wah! uses her music to bring audiences to a state of bliss. www.wahmusic.com
