MEET OUR TEACHER-OF-THE-MONTH:
Patrice Dlugos

Patrice Dlugos offers Stott Pilates mat and reformer classes privately and in the classroom setting at various locations including the YMCA of Montclair. She obtained her certification from Stott Pilates in Toronto,CA in intensive and advanced mat and reformer. She has also done extensive training in Stott Pilates for injuries and special populations. In addition she holds a certification from AFAA as a personal trainer. Previous to her training career, Patrice performed extensively as a dancer and singer on Broadway and at Rockefeller Center as a Radio City Rockette. She has performed many diverse styles of dance with many different choreographers over the years which has required her to stay strong and injury free. When she discovered Stott Pilates, she immediately knew that this method was what she wanted to do and teach. The exercises focused on muscular control which helps to prevent injury that can commonly occur upon impact like jogging, dancing or sports. The emphasis on strengthening the abdominals, postural allignment, flexibility, balance and coordination really works and the heightened concentration achieved from doing the exercises carries over into your everyday life. It is intelligent exercise with profound results.

Patrice: “I am constantly amazed at the progress my students continue to acheive, at any age with this creative and intelligent workout.”

She is thrilled to be teaching pilates here at Starseed!
